Montessori Approach
Montessori is an alternative teaching method based on the child development theories originated by Italian educator Maria Montessori. Montessori’s approach was constructed on the simple concept of tailoring education to children’s natural tendencies, also known as sensitive periods.

Newborn Montessori’s Philosophy
Newborn Montessori is seen as a complement to the family unit.  It fosters growth in a similar manner to that of each household, while incorporating Montessori methods along the way. All interactions with children are aimed at developing within themselves foundational habits of happiness and contentment. We feel these goals are best attained by providing a well balanced program of self-directed materials and child interaction combined with organized and influential activities.

History of Montessori
Dr. Maria Montessori, born in 1870, was Italy’s first female physician and one of the most influential educators of her time. Her work with underprivileged children in the early 1900’s led her to design unique learning materials, to train and educate others, and then to open numerous schools. The Montessori method is now being successfully implemented in nearly every country in the world.
